What’s the Purpose of This Role?

As an Association Communications Intern, you’ll be an integral part of the MSF Association Unit, helping to enhance engagement within the MSF Southern Africa Association through multiple communication channels. Key Responsibilities: What Will You Do?

1. Developing and Implementing Communication Strategies
  • Collaborate with the Association Team to design and execute engagement strategies for members.
  • Ensure that communication channels such as the association’s website (Inside OCB), SharePoint microsite, and social media are regularly updated and aligned.
2. Creating and Sharing Engaging Content
  • Generate and curate content that resonates with association members.
  • Post content on MSF’s internal and external platforms, ensuring that MSF’s goals and achievements are effectively communicated.
3. Managing Social Media Platforms
  • Engage with social media channels like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Monitor and grow social media engagement by:
    • Responding to trends
    • Engaging with followers proactively
  • Design and manage social media campaigns to raise awareness about MSF’s work.
4. Content Management
  • Regularly update the Inside OCB platform with relevant materials sourced from MSF’s global communications network and local content.
5. Monitoring and Reporting
  • Monitor social media activities and provide regular reports on engagement trends.
  • Analyze data to inform future strategies and campaigns.
6. Supporting Additional Association Activities
  • Assist with other projects and initiatives, including in-person or virtual events aimed at engaging association members.
